Attention: Additional Club important info

The following dates we will NOT have class.

The Hanshis want to let you know that there will be NO classes  starting Monday, 12/25 and we will be back in class on Wednesday, 1/3/24. That means that there will be no Monday, Wednesday or Thursday practice or beginners’ class during that time.  All three rec centers have been contacted that we have officially canceled classes on those dates. ‘See you in class tomorrow – class starts at 10:45 every Wednesday.  Thanks!  Lucille

9/24/2023 Reminder !

This is a reminder of something we haven’t mentioned for a while – but it is in our handbooks online and you may remember it once you start reading…………

All four Hanshis have requested that we DO NOT wear jewelry in class (that includes my beloved earrings).  It also includes bracelets, necklaces, charms, pins – everything, with the exception of a ring and any jewelry that is related to a medical condition.

It is safer to train without jewelry to hinder movements and to possibly get caught up in a move, be it in self defense or in kata work.  This is effective immediately so – NO JEWELRY in class please! — Lucille

  • Hanshi Aiello and Shihan Joe discussed the situation concerning the impending hurricane, Idalia, and have decided that there will be NO CLASS Wednesday, 8/30.  They would rather be cautious and be sure everyone is safe.  Hurricane paths can change quickly, so this will allow for any changes that might come up between now and until Idalia leaves Florida.  There will, of course, be class today, at Lake Miona!

hihan Joe wanted to share these changes in location with everyone.  As he mentioned, Lake Miona will not be available to us for our Monday classes 9/5 – 10/9.  The Recreation Department has given us the following dates and times at Colony Cottage and Robin volunteered to call a day or so ahead to find a location for us for 9/18 and 10/2.  You will eventually get an e-mail, just before those dates, letting us all know what Robin was able to find for us (thank you, Robin!).  See below for the dates they have given us at Colony………………………………
